RACISM IS FUNNY
BY GREGORY FUSCO
Our story mainly follows an African-American bar manager, Eli, and his fellow people of color as they navigate the ever-changing, confusing world of modern-day Brooklyn.
A comedy based on the true experiences of an African American, Brooklyn bartender and his friends.
Meant as a conversation starter, and cathartic laugh-fest, Racism Is Funny is an absurdist comedy based on the actual experiences of various people of color in the many diverse boroughs of New York. Our goal is to drag racism into the light and make fun of it together.
Eli is a life-long resident of Brooklyn, NY, whose life is getting turned upside down
As a Black bartender in Brooklyn, Eli has put up with some seriously racist stuff. We meet him and his friends at their breaking point. Eli is starting to see the world in a different light and his internal and external exploits lead to hilariously uncomfortable situations. He continues to serve his friends, nightly, at his bar Rhea's and acts as a sounding board for each of their diverse complaints and frustrations.
