Oxygen is integral to human life, but too much pure O2 is more dangerous than you could ever imagine

After the earth tried slowing global worming by outlawing the burning of fossil fuels the planet slowly started to build up its levels of O2 until we terraformed our own planet creating a hostile environment that has given rise to strange mutated creature. Fire is now the most deadly thing on earth, one spark could set the entire atmosphere in flames.

A former MIT mathematician is trying to create a fuel-less co2 system to balance the world's toxic levels of oxygen back to a level that will bring back life and civilization as it once was. Having a breakthrough in his research he has to travel 3000 miles across the country to connect with a group of researchers to assemble humanity's last hope for life again on earth.
